I am going to start off by giving you some quick background information about myself and then explain how the current state of the economy changed my life, forever. I hope you enjoy my blog.
I graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2009. At the time, you can say that we were almost at the bottom end of the recession and economic downturn that gripped the US, and the world as a result, and found it hard to find a full-time job. Everywhere I turned, companies where either on a hiring freeze or downsizing, or both! It seemed like every step I took was being matched by two steps backwards and I was going no where, fast! I was immediately disillusioned with the idea my parents held so dear to their heart and which they ingrained in me from adolescence, "Get good grades in school so that you can find a safe secure job".
Finally, 7 months after graduation I found a job with one of the worlds largest technology services companies. I was glad to have found a job and thought "finally all the hard work I put in the last 4 years in college will pay off". Little did I know that was far from the truth. I very soon realized that there was no future in being an employee working for a company. All I was doing was helping make somebody else RICH! What was I getting out of it? A measly $1400 at the end of two weeks, after the government took $450 out of my paycheck, that barely covered my rent, student loan payments, and living expenses. I was more frustrated and disillusioned than ever! Here I was working 40 hours per week and was barely making it. I felt trapped. I thought going to college was supposed to make things simpler, give you more freedom, and options in life. That did not seem to be the case. I didn't get it. I went to school to have a better standard of living and here I was more stressed and probably had more financial troubles than my parents at my age. I felt betrayed by the system. There had to be another way, I just knew it!
I started going online and researching ways to make money. I came upon many "get rich quick" schemes but I was not a believer in any of that. I started evaluating what I needed to do to become rich. The thing that was the most obvious was that I had to completely ignore everything I had been taught up to that point and completely change my mindset. That's when I decided to pick up a book I knew I had in my library for a very long time. One that I had actually never taken the time to read, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I started reading the book and I could not put it down. I digested every single word in that book book and everything made so much sense all of a sudden. If I would have only read this book earlier probably would have been in a better financial situation than I was at the time. I immediately became a fan of Robert Kiyosaki and tried to pick up every book I could get a hold of that was written by Rich Dad. That's when I discovered Network Marketing! The vehicle that would change my life forever and taught me the true meaning of leveraging the Internet in today, the Information Age!
